This presentation will share the framework for the Creativity that Works (CTW) initiative developed by the School of the Arts (SOA) at Converse College. Our goals include (1) incorporating critical thinking and creative expression in all areas of study, (2) providing external educational experiences that enrich the overall learning process, and (3) providing training in career management. In order to do so, we increased experiential learning opportunities, developed new courses, and increased audience engagement opportunities beyond the campus community. The CTW framework has also served to create a greater sense of community and collaboration within the SOA as we ensure students have access to critical skills that are necessary regardless of their chosen arts discipline. We train students to be working professionals in the arts by fostering communication, creativity, and scholarship.
