This roundtable brainstorming session, co-facilitated by AAAE board members Diane Claussen and Kevin Maifeld, is designed to consider organizational frameworks and business structures for an AAAE arts management consulting group. The consulting idea resurfaced at the 2019 AAAE Fall Board Retreat when members were asked to brainstorm about new revenue-generating ideas for the organization. Topics to be considered: legal, business and financial structures and questions; the consulting market and AAAE’s “niche” in the field; the AAAE brand and marketing opportunities in the arts consulting economy; the future of arts management consulting; students, alums and professors participation models; and integration and/or partnerships with AAAE member programs and individual consultants. The session features networking and resource sharing as well as participation in the co-creation of a potential new arts management consulting practice model and a new revenue stream to support AAAE’s programming and growth to support the arts management field.
