Paula Wilson, Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Student
Paula Wilson (she/her) will receive her Bachelors of Music in Flute Performance with a minor in Arts Management at Indiana University in May 2021. During her time at Indiana University she gained experience and skills in community engagement, leadership, marketing and communications, research, project development and management, and arts administration. She is an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the performing arts, especially regarding musical training.
Paula is an active student leader serving as a Student Ambassador with the Jacobs School of Music (JSoM) Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, the Undergraduate Representative of the JSoM Council, a co-chair on the JSoM Student Representative Committee, and founder of the JSoM Black Artists' Guild. Additionally, she participates in the Undergraduate Research Program for the Center for Research on Race and Ethnicity in Society, volunteers as Board Member of the Bloomington Chamber Opera, and is a co-chair for the Alliance for the Transformation of Musical Academe (ATMA) Student Task Force. This summer, Paula will intern for the Nashville Symphony through the Diversity in Arts Leadership Program with Americans for the Arts.
