Dr. Christina R. Haldane, Dalhousie University, Assistant Professor

Dr. Christina Raphaëlle Haldane is a Canadian British soprano who enjoys an active performing career in the UK, Europe, Asia and North America. She has sung principal roles in opera houses internationally, including Finnish National Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Scottish Opera, and Musica Viva Hong Kong. An accomplished concert performer, she has performed with many renowned orchestras, and tours regularly with recital and chamber music repertoire. In 2019 she completed a DMA in Voice Performance at the University of Toronto. Her thesis, Segmentation Models for Arts Public Relations: Finding an Audience for Opera, a qualitative study of boutique opera companies in Toronto, combines her public relations and opera experience. Christina has an MMus from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, UK, a BMus from the University of Toronto, spent a year of study at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, and has a Diploma in Public Relations from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, London, UK. In addition to her performing and academic work, Christina is in demand as a voice teacher internationally, in both studio and masterclass settings. Dr. Haldane is a newly appointed Assistant Professor in Applied Voice at Dalhousie University's Fountain School of Performing Arts.
