Eliza Jane Coyle, Community Programs Officer at Yarra Libraries & PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne

Eliza Jane Coyle holds a Bachelor of Art History and Theory (Hons) from the University of New South Wales, a Masters in Art Curatorship and is in the process of completing a PhD at the University of Melbourne. Her current research project will examine the intersection of art, medicine and science in the work of Jeanne Mammen, Dörte Clara Wolff and Elfriede Lohse-Wächtler in “immoral” Berlin of the 1920s.

Eliza is also a recipient of a recent creative development grant for her exhibition “How to Build a Universe,” which explores the dark and fictional underside of narratives of world-culture and works part-time in public programming at Yarra Libraries. In both roles, she strives to develop innovative formats that have a strong participation aspect and challenge how we see each other and the world around us.
And - spends every spare minute learning German.
